Overview

Huron Valley Schools approached A-Turf to help them replace their existing turf fields. The school district, which consists of multiple schools, was looking to update their multipurpose fields for two of their High Schools: Lakeland and Milford.

According to the school district’s website, there were approximately 70,000 spectators that attended Lakeland and Milford sporting events in 2019 — proving the keen interest in what happens on these fields! They needed a high-quality synthetic field system that could keep up with the intense usage of these multipurpose fields where football, soccer, and lacrosse are common events. A-Turf was able to provide the best solution!

Key Challenges and Solutions

Just like many things in 2020, one of the key challenges with this multi-field project was dealing with the obstacles caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the many challenges, A-Turf was able to deliver two high-quality fields on time and on budget. A-Turf and its subcontractors managed and followed COVID-19 protocols and delivered both fields ahead of the A-Turf Scope project schedule.

It consists of the world’s strongest woven fabric primary backing with restorative characteristics, zero absorption, and the greatest dimensional stability. Paired with the Schmitz Pad, these fields will offer the best safety rating and will replicate perfectly-conditioned grass in both playability and shock attenuation 24/7.
