A-Turf is headquartered in Western New York and has sales offices and installation crews strategically located throughout the United States. A-Turf builds premier athletic fields across the nation: from Little League baseball to professional football, college single-sport stadiums to high school multi-sport fields, public or private indoor practice facilities to outdoor tournament complexes, school play areas to municipal venues.
Jim Dobmeier founded A-Turf as a subsidiary of Pennsylvania-based Ecore International in 2002. As an Ecore company, A-Turf’s capabilities are broad, its bonding capacity is great, its financial strength is sure, the warranties are superior and the approach to business is responsible. A-Turf is synonymous with stability in the field-building industry. Athletic & recreational surfacing & flooring are core businesses and an integral part of the corporate focus.
Ecore traces its history back to 1871 when D.W. Dodge established a cork business in New York. Following relocation to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1876 and becoming the nation’s second-largest cork company over a century later, the 1980s brought a transformation to focus on recycled rubber technology. Ecore is now the largest processor and user of recycled rubber, reusing more than 75 million pounds of material each year. All of its products – from commercial flooring and sports surfacing to playground safety surfacing and sound insulation – are engineered with precision at every step to be the smartest solutions on the market. While the lion share of Ecore products are made from recycled rubber, cork is still very much a key ingredient in its products for the industrial, aerospace and automotive segments. All materials are made and assembled in the U.S.A.
